Civic League Annual Meeting, May 22

Anirban Basu, Chairman/CEO of the Sage Policy Group, will discuss “The Economic Value of Open Space to the City of Baltimore” at the upcoming annual meeting on Tuesday, May 22, from 7-9 p.m. at the Roland Park Elementary/Middle School (5207 Roland Avenue).

The program will also include a review of where we are in the implementation of the Greater Roland Park Master Plan. We will highlight the 2011 achievements but more importantly preview our 2012 goals particularly as they relate to open space. This is an important meeting for all in the Greater Roland Park community to attend. We hope to see you there.

Take Back our Sidewalks Campaign

Join a multi-community effort to trim back vegetation within the Greater Roland Park area by clearing vegetation encroaching on your sidewalk and by encouraging neighbors to do so as well. We all benefit from unobstructed sidewalks plus it’s our legal obligation to do so. Please see the campaign letter at for more information.

Street Tree Planting Available for Full Maintenance Fees Paying RP Residents at No Additional Cost

To provide value to families paying full maintenance fees and Civic League dues, the Civic League Maintenance Committee will fund a $20,000 investment for the planting of street trees along the parking of those families’ properties. The Civic League will pay for the tree and its installation. The resident will need to agree to water the tree over the first two years. If you have an interest in having a street tree planted along your property (and you have paid full maintenance and Civic League dues), send an email to CLTrees@rolandpark.org.

We anticipate this will become an annual effort as we work to re-populate our aging and critically important street tree population.

If you have not yet paid your full-service fees, please do so today. Call the office at 410-464-2525 if you have questions as to the amount.
