Land Use and Zoning Committee
Andy Niazy, Chair
The Land Use and Zoning Committee is charged with reviewing and monitoring new development projects, and addressing zoning and other development issues or violations when they arise. These include projects within Roland Park, as well as nearby developments that affect our community.
Over the past several years, the Committee has also been very active in helping to guide the rewrite of Baltimore City’s zoning code. Throughout this process, the Committee has advocated for the best interests of the greater Roland Park community. For example, Committee members have helped craft new codes to preserve the character of neighborhood commercial districts, and new protocols that allow for greater community input on the physical development plans of schools in our area.
The Committee strives to work closely with the Roland Park Roads and Maintenance Board, as well as the City of Baltimore Department of Planning, Board of Municipal and Zoning Appeals, Office of Permits & Building Inspections, and especially our City Council representatives.
